The Future Heavies
David Lovelace has been a regular in the local Connecticut band scene since the 1990s. Dave's progressive electronic music side project Parallax has two albums, with a third release planned for 2016; and his synth wizardry has been seen over a million times on YouTube (user name hamsterdunce).

Among over a dozen Connecticut bands, Dave is no stranger to 1980s rockin', busting out the keytar in bands including Plastica, Driven, The Royal Din, Pong, and CO2.

 


The Future Heavies
When not playing music, Dave was a contributing writer and cartoonist for Keyboard Magazine from 2005 to 2014; and also a renowned animator, earning an Recording Industry Association of America-certified Gold Record for creating "Weird Al" Yankovic's music video Virus Alert off the 2006 release Straight Outta Lynwood. Dave's animated series Retarded Animal Babies has been seen an estimated 100 million times online, and on the G4TV, VH-1, and Bravo channels.

"The Future Heavies" will cover all of The Beastie Boys "Licensed to Ill" album in celebration of the 30th anniversary of its release in November 1986, and in memory of MCA who passed away in May 2012.

"The Future Heavies" will be joined by David M. Johnson Jr. (as "Mike D"), drummer Jacob Graham, Dustin Kreidler on saxophone, John Dotson on percussion, and Nancy Brown on trumpet to perform "Licensed to Ill." Matthew James will perform as "MCA," and Andy Chatfield will perform as "King Ad-Rock."

In addition to "Licensed to Ill," The Future Heavies will perform two one hour sets of best in new wave, pop, R&B, dance, and rock from the 1980s. Sarah LeMieux will be subbing for vocalist Alice-Anne Harwood Sherrill.

"The Future Heavies" will take you back in time with three sets of the best in new wave, pop, R&B, dance, and rock from the 1980s from 8pm to 11pm. Dress in your best ´80s outfits and party with us.

Now through Friday June 9, listen to Keith C. Rise at 4:20pm Monday through Friday on 100.9 K-Hits FM as he reveals the "Bermuda Cruise Phrase of the Day."
