Shona Kerr - keyboards, saxophone, vocals (2015)

The Future Heavies

Shona Kerr was "the Brit chick" of the band (yes, she has the accent!) Growing up in London, she was immersed in the music of Duran Duran, Thompson Twins, Simple Minds, Tears for Fears, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Spandau Ballet, and many other artists. Having played piano from the age of six, it was Wham! featuring George Michael's Careless Whisper and Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street that made her beg her parents for a saxophone. Shona's gear includes a Korg Kronos keyboard and a Yanagisawa alto saxophone. Some of her other favorite artists include Radiohead, Keane, Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Lady Gaga, Scissor Sisters, Elton John, and Depeche Mode; and some of her favorite songs include Motorcycle Emptiness, Idioteque, Rio, and Enjoy the Silence. Before she was a founding member of The Future Heavies, Shona was a member of The Reanimators.
